Ghanaian movie producer Israel Agbo Forson, 32, is in police custody after he threatened to shoot officers during a routine search in a viral video.

On June 17, 2025, Forson reportedly recorded and shared a threat-laced video aimed at the Ghana Police Service. He reportedly owns and operates the Valino Brothers production house. The controversial video, which quickly circulated across major social media platforms, captured him issuing strong warnings and referencing a possible future act of violence against officers.

According to sources, the situation escalated when Forson boarded a commercial vehicle heading to an undisclosed location. While en route, Ghana police officers intercepted the vehicle during a routine stop-and-search operation.

In the video, Forson boldly challenges the police, demanding to know if their search was legal. The officers reportedly told him they were conducting searches to prevent the movement of illegal arms and ammunition. Forson continued to argue with the officer, asking what legal grounds they had to stop and search him.

Police officers escorted Forson and the driver to a nearby station for questioning.

In a second video, also circulating online, Forson narrated his ordeal at the hands of the police. They slapped me three times just for refusing to let them search my bag,” he said, recounting the traumatic ordeal. “They dragged me from one station to another—Taifa, Westland—locked me up, and never even told me what crime I’d committed.

According to him, his phone was seized five times, and he was detained unlawfully without explanation. He said, “Next time I will protect myself, and it will be unforgivable,” signalling his readiness to retaliate.

In another bold video, Forson addressed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) directly. He urged the IGP to educate his officers on handling the public professionally. His threatening remarks included the statement:

“Next time when I strap, I will shoot somebody… This is the third time this has happened to me. This is a warning—I swear to God.”

The disturbing video gained widespread attention and triggered swift action from law enforcement.

Following the circulation of the videos, the police responded promptly. Exclusive News Plus confirmed on June 28, 2025, that police had arrested Forson for threatening the Ghana Police Service. While authorities haven’t yet disclosed the formal charges, police sources say he likely faces prosecution for violent threats and incitement.

Exclusive News Plus will provide updates as more information becomes available, including court dates, legal representation, and the specific charges brought against Forson. The police stressed that no one is above the law and warned they will not tolerate threats against state security.

The videos have sparked a fierce debate online, with some defending Forson’s right to speak out against police misconduct, while others condemn his violent threats. Many netizens believe there’s a need for better civic-police relations, while some call for tighter laws against public threats.
