Ghanaian TikTok Star GH Kobby Allegedly Shoots Girlfriend Dead in Yeji

Exclusive News Plus reports that the shooting happened in Yeji, a town in Ghana’s Bono East Region. Witnesses say just before the gunshot, GH Kobby, age 31, was eating at the same table as his girlfriend with two friends – Kwadwo Emmanuel, age 28 and Michael Kabutey, age 34.
While the exact trigger for the shooting remains unclear, eyewitnesses allege Kobby retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, took aim at his girlfriend known as Yaa Baby and fired the deadly shot. The three men then reportedly placed her lifeless body into their vehicle and fled the scene.
Police confirm all three men are currently detained and cooperating with investigators as the probe continues.
Meanwhile, a deeper narrative is emerging about the events that led to the death of Philipha Frimpong, known as Yaa Baby. The victim was allegedly shot by her boyfriend, popular TikTok figure GH Kobby, during a visit to Yeji.
We now have testimony from someone who says he was there and even hosted the group at his home just before the shooting. His account paints a disturbing picture of what unfolded.
As background, Kobby, Yaa Baby, and two others, Kwadwo Emmanuel and Michael Kabutey, were reportedly eating together shortly before the incident. This new witness was present for that meal and describes the fatal moments afterwards. He described how they became friends through studying together.
“What happened is that they came to my place to study because they are students. That’s how we became friends,” the witness stated. “Around 2 p.m., I got a call from them saying they wanted to visit. When they arrived, we were chatting, and Kobby asked Ashawo to bring a gun from the car.”
The witness recounted warning Kobby to be careful, especially as Kobby seemed unfamiliar with handling the weapon. “When Ashawo brought the gun, he and the others left the scene. I told Kobby to be careful because he said he wanted to fire a warning shot. He was struggling to load the bullets. I even told the lady (Yaa Baby) to move away from him, but she didn’t listen,” he added.
He described the moment the gun fired: “After loading the bullets, he tried to close the chamber, and that’s when he accidentally pulled the trigger. All we heard from Yaa Baby was, ‘Have you seen? You’ve killed me,’ before she collapsed.”
This eyewitness also directly challenged viral rumours circulating online. He denied claims that Kobby placed Yaa Baby’s body in the boot of their CRV vehicle or that there had been any argument before the shooting. “After she fell, we placed her inside the car, not the car boot, as people are saying. When they drove off, I immediately called the police. The bullet hit her left arm and was heading toward her chest, not her private part. And there was no argument between them,” he clarified.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Yaa Baby’s tragic death continue, with widespread calls for a thorough examination of the incident.
